Brow Lamination: Everything I Wish Someone Had Told Me Before I Got Trained
I'll be honest — when I was in school at Aveda in Portland, brow lamination wasn't even on my radar. I was obsessed with skin, facials, extractions, the whole skincare world. Brows were an afterthought.
Then I got certified in lamination, did my first few clients, and watched them see their results in the mirror. The reaction every single time was the same: why did I wait so long to do this?
Now it's one of the most requested services at Full Circle Beauty. Here's everything you need to know.
What Brow Lamination Actually Does
Brow lamination restructures the bonds in your brow hairs — similar to how a perm works on your hair — and sets them in a new, upward direction. The result is brows that look fuller, more defined, and perfectly groomed from the moment you wake up until you go to sleep. No pencil, no gel, no effort.
It works with the hair you already have. Whether your brows are sparse, flat, unruly, or just underwhelming, lamination maximizes what's there. And if your brows are already full? It takes them from good to extraordinary.
The Process Step by Step
The appointment takes about 45–60 minutes. Here's what happens:
- Lifting cream — applied to the brows to soften the hair bonds and make the hairs pliable
- Brushing and shaping — I brush the hairs into the desired position while they're pliable
- Setting solution — locks everything in place
- Nourishing oil — conditions the hairs after the chemical process
- Optional waxing and tinting — I clean up the shape and add color definition in the same appointment
Who It's Perfect For (and Who Should Skip It)
Lamination is ideal for anyone with flat, sparse, or downward-growing brow hairs. It's also perfect if you're tired of filling in your brows every single day. If you have fine or damaged brow hairs, we'd need to discuss whether your hair can handle the process — I'll always be honest about what's right for your specific situation.
I don't recommend it during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, or if you've had any chemical or laser treatments near the brow area recently.
Aftercare — The 24 Hours That Make or Break It
The first 24 hours are critical. Keep brows completely dry — no water, sweat, steam, or humidity. No touching, no makeup on the brows. After 48 hours, start applying a nourishing brow oil or castor oil every night. This keeps the hairs conditioned and extends your results.
Results last 6–8 weeks. Most of my clients book every 6–7 weeks to maintain the look.
Why I Believe in This Treatment
I got into this work because I genuinely believe skincare and beauty should make you feel better — not more dependent on products, not more complicated, but actually freer. A good brow lamination does that. You wake up, your brows look amazing, and you can put your energy into everything else that matters. That's what I'm here for.
