Skin Lightening Treatment in Point Loma, San Diego
Professional hyperpigmentation and dark spot treatments using clinical-grade GlyMed+ solutions. Results that over-the-counter products can't match.
What Causes Hyperpigmentation?
Hyperpigmentation — dark spots, uneven tone, post-inflammatory marks — happens when melanin production becomes irregular in certain areas. The causes vary: sun exposure (very common in San Diego), acne scarring, hormonal changes, or skin trauma. The area gets darker than the surrounding skin and stays there, sometimes for months or years, without targeted treatment.
Over-the-counter brightening products contain very low concentrations of active ingredients. They can help maintain results, but they rarely produce the transformation that professional-grade treatments do.
What I Use at Full Circle Beauty
I use GlyMed+ professional solutions — clinical-grade chemical exfoliants and brightening treatments that require a licensed esthetician to apply. The GlyMed+ line includes professional Jessner solutions, TCA peels, peptide exfoliants, and pigment lift formulations that target melanin production at the cellular level.
These aren't the same as drugstore peels. The active concentrations are significantly higher, the chemistry is more sophisticated, and the results reflect that. I trained on these products and understand how to customize the protocol for your specific skin tone, pigmentation type, and sensitivity.
What the Treatment Involves
Every skin lightening treatment at Full Circle Beauty starts with a thorough skin assessment. I look at your pigmentation pattern, skin tone, sensitivity level, and what you've already tried. From there, I build a custom protocol — it's never one-size-fits-all.
A typical series looks like this:
- Initial consultation and skin assessment (included with first appointment)
- 3–6 treatment sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart
- Maintenance treatments every 6–8 weeks to sustain results
- At-home protocol guidance between sessions
Results and Timeline
Most clients notice visible lightening within 2–3 sessions. Full results from a treatment series typically appear at 4–6 weeks post-treatment as the skin completes its cycle. Sun protection is non-negotiable throughout — SPF 30+ daily is required to prevent new pigmentation forming while we're working on the existing marks.
Living in San Diego makes sun protection especially important. I'll be very direct with you about this: any skin lightening protocol will underperform if you're not wearing SPF every single day.
Is Skin Lightening Right for You?
Book a consultation and I'll look at your skin properly before making any recommendations. Some pigmentation responds quickly to professional treatment. Some requires a longer commitment. I'd rather tell you the honest truth upfront than overpromise and underdeliver.
